Investors,

Thanks for subscribing, today we’ll be looking at a visualized breakdown of META Platform’s (META) and Google’s (GOOG) earnings quarter.

Meta Platforms

When we think of top social media apps, we usually think of the “Family of Apps” that Facebook/Meta has been able to create or acquire throughout the years. The group of apps brought in over $115 billion in revenue for FY 2022.

Remember, these apps are free so most revenue is from ads and marketplaces. Here’s a look at peer comparison when looking at revenues:

  • META: 116b

  • GOOGL: 282b

  • AMZN (Amazon ad network): 38b

  • SNAP: 4b

But META’s revenues alone don’t tell the full story. The company’s net income has been on a steady decline and is down 60% from just two years ago.

This was due to massive CapEx expense the company saw during the development of their Metaverse.

Next up, let’s take a look at Alphabet’s (GOOG) earnings this last month.
