When we think of top social media apps, we usually think of the “Family of Apps” that Facebook/Meta has been able to create or acquire throughout the years. The group of apps brought in over $115 billion in revenue for FY 2022.
Remember, these apps are free so most revenue is from ads and marketplaces. Here’s a look at peer comparison when looking at revenues:

GOOGL: 282b
AMZN (Amazon ad network): 38b
SNAP: 4b
But META’s revenues alone don’t tell the full story. The company’s net income has been on a steady decline and is down 60% from just two years ago.
This was due to massive CapEx expense the company saw during the development of their Metaverse.
